...because if you don't write it down, it will be lost forever.

Penrod climbed upon a barrel, stood on tiptoe,
grasped the rim of the box; then, using a knot-hole
as a stirrup, threw one leg over the top, drew himself
up, and dropped within.

Standing upon the packed sawdust, he was just tall enough to see over the top.

-----------

Why Penrod? All I can remember -- about books from my childhood -- is that Booth Tarkington's "Penrod" series were books that I read over and over again.

I don't really remember the stories, don't remember if Penrod was a childhood idol.

I do remember, however, that I liked the books and they, along with another "magic orange filter" book which I received when I had the measles, are high on my lis of rememberances.

Go figure!

Diary: a "whenever I get around to it" or "think of something else to post" written record of (usually personal) experiences and observations.

Okay, so this isn't a "daily" written record. What then is it?

Notes and recollections of particular days. Things done on that day, recorded as a reminder of "out of the ordinary" when and where I was and did. This is mostly for me, but you may, perhaps, find it interesting.

Wednesday, February 20, 2008 -- Cricket and Wicket to Rippowam

Thursday, February 21, 2008 -- A meeting in Middletown at 9:30, most successful. Manage to flesh out the skeleton of the ACLB Workshop for the CLA Conference and the ACLB Leadership Conference this coming October.

With Les Kozerowitz, enroute home, lunch at Katz's, great (unbelievable) visit to the Whitlock Book Barns in Bethany (spent about $40), short stop in Amity, then onto Dragone Classic Cars in Bridgeport (an $85,000 Jaguar XKE - Type 1, among others -- Packard, Pierce Arrow, made my eyes tear).

Thursday, March 26, 2015 -- Wow, has it been that long between posts, my how time flies -- so, I'll be working backwards (as the memory serves).

Thursday, April 23, 2015 -- Updated the site, added Kudos, and photos. Made some other minor alterations.

Monday, June 22, 20154 -- Met David (my son) in New York City, just to two of us for lunch (we at at The Dutch) -- chatted and caught up a bit, this being the first time in a long time it was just the two of us. Mostly when we get together its David, Elizabeth, Annika, Mom -- and at times (although not often enough) with Michael, Amy, Connor and Caroline. As I said, it was good to have this "alone" time -- we plan on making a somewhat of a routine.
